How will you measure your growth?
How will you measure your improvement?
This is the last post in the BE Series on BEing Skillful.
Now that you are a month into this new habit and practice, pause and ask yourself: how are you doing? Where have you moved the needle the most?
Reflect on what you’ve learned—not just about the skill itself, but about the process of BEing skillful. How are you more capable today than when you started? What can you do now that surprises you?
And if you didn’t achieve what you set out to by now, that’s not failure—it’s feedback. Maybe you expected too much too soon. Maybe your practice wasn’t as consistent as you hoped. Maybe life, distractions, or disappointment pulled you off track. Or maybe you simply needed more time with each session than you allowed. All of these realizations are part of the skill-building process.
Here’s how to put this into practice this week:
- Look back at your original goal. Where are you today compared to then? Write down 2–3 ways you’ve improved.
- Celebrate one win. Even if small—acknowledge it out loud or share it with someone.
- Identify one obstacle. Be honest about what got in the way.
- Decide what’s next. Do you want to continue, adjust, or start again with fresh clarity?
And if you do start again, know this: you are not at the same place you began. Growth has already happened—whether or not it’s visible yet. Take a breath, take a bow, and enjoy what you’ve learned.
Now, go enjoy what you have learned!
