Love what you do
Do you love what you do?
Did you choose to be doing this job or did you end up in this role on your way to doing something else…and forgot to leave?
You can choose to love what you do even if (and especially when) it’s not perfect and not exactly what you want or exactly the way you want it. You can choose to love your job for what it provides you, right now, the way it is. You can choose to love your job for what it teaches you, directly and indirectly, that will make you better at this job currently and jobs in the future.
When you love what you do you (and accept what you cannot change and change what you can) you will take your job as an offering and a gift. When you take it that way, you will honor it and engage in it with commitment and desire to learn, and a willingness to be uncomfortable in the process.
When you love what you do, flow experiences occur. You will watch, read, practice to get better at your craft…and look up and notice hours have passed while you were immersed in the learning process.
When you love what you do you will be coachable to be better at it…and find opportunities to grow and develop.
Take a look - do you love what you do? Is there anything you are resisting or tolerating? Can you accept and surrender to the realities of these things and develop a strategy to manage them to success and mastery? Is there anything else in the way that a change of perspective might alter?
Now, go do what you love to do!
