New Year’s Celebrations, anyone?
Starting something new takes time to incorporate into our lives. We see it when we put last year’s year on checks (who writes checks anymore?) or on documents. New things take getting used to.
And it’s likely that we don’t build enough celebration into new activities…would you agree?
Setting short-term milestones or hitting daily targets are celebration worthy accomplishments that will keep enthusiasm up and focus strong. We know it’s easy to get distracted or to make setbacks seem larger than they are, right? How about planning a little bump into our week, along with a couple of affirmations?
Someone smarter than I am said “When we fail to plan, we plan to fail.” What about “When we plan to celebrate, we have MORE to celebrate!”
Think about it. It’s reasonable, realistic and fun...three things that don’t always go together.
Now, go try it. And let me know how it works for you!
